Peligro Sports proudly presents the launch of a new online presence! 

The Peligro Sports NYC blog is live now and aims to increase available access for enthusiasts of the World Baseball Classic 2013, the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM), the sports world of New York City and beyond.

The website and social media bases will enrich the excitement of following the baseball season by providing fans with the means to support their teams through online commentary, spotlights on featured players, and editorial pieces ranging from the history of LIDOM to its impact on America today.

President of Peligro Sports, Jose Mateo, continues the tradition of pride in service through this development of online outreach.

“When I see the smile of a kid getting ready for the next game, the fire in their eyes and the dream coming to life when they get what they need to play baseball,” Mateo explains, “it makes me proud and committed to give them the best equipment and the best service available to us.”

Mateo grew up in Washington Heights in the shadow of Yankee Stadium.  Like many young kids from the Dominican Republic growing up in the city, baseball became a part of the routine of daily life as naturally as drawing breath. 

The crack of wooden bats and the snap of leather gloves as they close around a fly ball inspired “Peligro” to participate in the “Mecca” of baseball culture in New York City.

In 1994, Mateo opened the doors to the Peligro Sports at 2200 Amsterdam Avenue in New York. The store provides customers with brand-name products like New Era, Majestic, Mizuno, Rawlings, Nike, and MLB-certified items at prices that are affordable and reasonably priced.

Today, Peligro Sports provides fans of a variety of teams from across the country the tools, apparel, and advice they need to support their teams from a distance during the MLB and LIDOM season. With the new online presence, feature page, and blog, sports fans will be able to purchase custom silk-screened shirts of their favorite LIDOM players, as well as reading up-to-date analysis of sports statistics, player histories, and news on the Peligro Sports blog.
